These photos show how the pre-operative appearance does not always show the natural state of the breast once the implants are removed. The original surgeon (not Dr Sandercoe) elected for large implants that required a much longer lower pole length than this patient naturally had. They ‘borrowed’ some upper abdominal skin to create space for the large implant. Once the implant was removed, the patient’s natural inframammary fold was revealed. An immediate mastopexy for this patient would have been a bad idea and resulted in a breast with a poorer shape.
